Logistics services outsourcing decision making: a literature review and research agenda

Logistics plays important role in any firm’s supply chain. Outsourcing allows firms to focus on core business. outsourcing third party logistics or service providers (LSP) helps the companies reduce costs, improve performance, sustainability, customer satisfaction and profitability. assessment selection of LSP is a complex aspect decision. The purpose this paper provide review literature an insight trend, opportunities, criteria techniques adopted decision-making. This based 62 research articles published related evaluation during 2010-2020. analysis includes publications journals, year, methods. It has been found that 44 major have used by different authors but most commonly are: price, on-time delivery, quality, reliability, flexibility, equipment technology, relationship, while environmental social are rarely adopted. also observed multi decision making (MCDM) methods majority researchers wherein Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Technique for order preference similarity ideal solution (TOPSIS) their fuzzy variant highly applied.
